3-day mountain hut tour - stage 1

3-day mountain hut tour - stage 1

Description

Fantastic views and culinary delights!

Start at the hiking starting point in Going, Hüttling (820 m). The forest path and later path 818 leads you to the natural spectacle of the Schleier waterfall. The rock dome with its waterfall invites you to take a deep breath and catch your breath. Continue along the rock faces to the Stiegenbach waterfall. At the next crossroads, continue along path 817 towards the Wilder Kaiser. After a short rocky passage, you cross the Stiegenbach stream and hike across alpine meadows to the next junction. Here you follow path 827 to the Obere Regalm (1,313 m).

Continue on trail 827 across alpine meadows uphill to the Brennenden Palven (also known as Baumgartenköpfl, 1,568 m). Fantastic panoramic views of the Wilder Kaiser rock massif to the north and the Kitzbühel Alps and Hohe Tauern to the south are the reward for the ascent. This is also the location of the famous mountaineer's grave, where the "Koasamuch" found his final resting place. The famous mountaineer of the "Edelweiss Guild" Much Wieser, born in Scheffau in 1888, campaigned for summit registers on all the Kaiser peaks.

Trail 824 now leads westwards down the valley to the Gaudeamushütte (1,263 m), which offers a marvellous view of the Ellmauer Tor. Bring the rest of the day to a cosy close with culinary delicacies.

Caution:
Obere Regalm - open Friday, Saturday & Sunday in good weather only; mid-September to mid-October Saturday & Sunday
