Description

Hundsalm ice and stalactite cave

Hikers will find refreshment of a somewhat different kind at the Hundsalm at an altitude of 1,250 metres. In the ice and stalactite caves, even in the height of summer, it is always around zero degrees.

This natural jewel offers a fascinating underground experience. It lies above Angerberg/Mariastein and is the only publicly accessible ice and stalactite cave in western Austria. It is open from June to September.

A visit is especially recommended in spring, when the cave displays the most bizarre ice forms. The visit is possible in any weather! Good...
