The Kaisergebirge mountain range lies in the eastern part of the Austrian state of Tirol, around an hour’s drive from Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich. The Wilder Kaiser massif stretches roughly from St. Johann in Tirol to Kufstein, with the villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll nestled along its southern foothills.
