The composition of the trail varies between forest roads, paths and rocky passages with some sections secured by ropes.

On the B176 in Griesenau at Gasthof Griesenau turn west into Kaiserbachtal. Pass the tollbooth and follow the road past the Fischbachalm to the car park at the Griesner Alm inn.
In the summer months, you can comfortably be brought to the Griesner Alm in the mountaineering Taxi, which is subject to a fee, from your accommodation in Going, Ellmau, Scheffau or Söll (registration required by 5pm the day before). From the Wochenbrunner Alm, the hiking bus with the Wilder Kaiser GuestCard will bring you back to Ellmau and the Kaiserjet stop free of charge. All Information on www.wilderkaiser.info/mobil
