Backpack, sturdy hiking/mountaineering boots with non-slip treaded soles, weather-appropriate hiking clothing (breathable), change of clothes, sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, headwear), rain protection (rain jacket/poncho, pocket umbrella, backpack cover), cold protection (hat, gloves), provisions (sufficient water and snacks), optional hiking poles (height-adjustable), first-aid kit including rescue blanket & bivouac sack, mobile phone with fully charged battery, headlamp, plastic bag for waste, hiking map, tour description and information material (GPX track), ID, insurance card, cash.

The path conditions vary between forest trails, narrow paths, scree fields, and gravel tracks.

40 Wochenbrunner Alm bus : Wochenbrunner Alm

The free hikers’ bus runs daily in summer between the Ellmau Dorf/Bauhof
bus stop the trailhead of the hike to the Wochenbrunner Alm Alpine hut.
Passengers can change to/from the KaiserJet and VVT-Regiobuslines 865 and 866
at the Ellmau Dorf/Bauhof bus stop.

Coming from Wörgl or Kufstein on the B178 federal road, take the first exit to Ellmau and then take the first exit at the roundabout. Follow the road straight ahead until you reach the junction (green signs - direction Kaiserbad/Kaisergebirge/Wochenbrunn). Turn left here and then turn right immediately after the bus stop. Now follow the road until you reach the car park of the Wochenbrunner Alm.

Coming from St. Johann on the B178 federal road, take the first exit to Ellmau and drive straight ahead until the junction (green signs - direction Kaiserbad/Kaisergebirge/Wochenbrunn), turn right here and then turn right again immediately after the bus stop. Now follow the road until you reach the car park of the Wochenbrunner Alm.
