"I have truly experienced the Wilder Kaiser."
With the Kaiserblüte - the star-shaped hike on the Wilder Kaiser, you discover a new natural habitat each day in this unique mountain world: forest, water, rock, moorland and alpine pasture.
Each walk is a nature experience in its own right - and yet you return in the evening, relaxed, to your accommodation in the valley.
No overnight stay in a hut

- Each hike is a highlight in its own right.
- A holiday that lasts.

Good to know!
You can find the exact routes and maps for the individual tours - you can also download the GPX tracks there.
The detailed Wilder Kaiser hiking map is available locally at the four tourist information centres in Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll or you can order it online.
There is also a Kaiserblüte folder, which you can also obtain from the four tourist information centres.

The Kaiserblüte is a multi-day star hike for beginners with mountain experience and a good level of fitness. With stages ranging in length from 8 - 18.3 km and the most challenging stage on rock with 1,030 metres of ascent, it offers easy and moderately difficult hiking and mountain trails that require surefootedness and in some cases a head for heights. The corresponding signs are in a basic yellow colour and have a red dot to indicate the level of difficulty. Photos of the route, including the key sections, can be found in the individual stages.
Depending on snow conditions, the Kaiserblüte is accessible from June to mid-October.

Definition of moderately difficult ("red") mountain trails
Red mountain trails are often narrow and steep and can be exposed in places. They may include short, secured walking passages or short sections for which the supportive use of the hands is advantageous. These paths should only be attempted by sure-footed and enduring mountain hikers with appropriate mountain equipment and alpine experience.
Requirements for the imperial blossom
- Sure-footedness and a head for heights
- Appropriate mountain equipment and alpine experience as well as fitness for up to eight hours of walking. (The exact altitude metres and kilometres per day can be found in the individual stages).
A star hike works like a star: you have a fixed starting point in the valley (your accommodation) and from there you undertake a different round or day tour in different directions every day.
You can experience several habitats without having to pack your suitcase every day or spend the night in a hut, and thanks to the hiking buses and KaiserJet you can get to the start and end points of the tours in comfort.
You can book individually guided tours directly with the Tyrolean mountain hiking guides or state-certified mountain guides from the region. Not only will you be safe on your way, but you will also learn a few tips about the Kaiser Mountains.
Here you will find recommendations for your equipment along the Kaiserblüte. Breathable outdoor clothing that is suitable for all weather conditions is important. We recommend lightweight, quick-drying clothing made of merino wool that remains odourless even after a few days. Please make sure you have enough food for the day tours: muesli bars, nuts and dried fruit are a good snack for in between. You should also take enough to drink, whereby a refillable water bottle is particularly recommended.
Standard equipment:
- Outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and the tour, including a change of clothes
- Hiking poles (height-adjustable)
- Catering (enough to drink & snacks)
- Mobile phone with fully charged battery
- ID, insurance card, cash
- Sturdy hiking boots with grippy tread soles
- Sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream, lip protection, headgear)
- Cold protection (hat, gloves)
- Climbing harness and via ferrata set if necessary
- First aid pack incl. rescue blanket & bivouac bag
- Hiking map, tour description and information material
- Rain cover
Rescue missions in the mountains are not free of charge! If you take out mountain cost insurance in good time (e.g. travel insurance from Europäische Reiserversicherung or as a sponsor of the Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service, as a member of the Alpine Club, via ÖAMTC/ADAC or credit card and private accident insurance), your mountain costs can be covered by the insurance up to the defined amount.
Attention! Health insurance companies do not pay for rescue from alpine emergencies!
