The accommodation in Europe's Hiking Villages is run by dedicated and passionate hiking enthusiasts who offer a perfect hiking service programme and hike with the guests themselves, introducing them to the special features of the village and the region.
Criteria:
- Multilingualism
- Hiking expertise of the host (training as a Tyrolean mountain hiking guide or similar)
- A weekly host hike
- Further guided hikes with certified hiking guides
- Ideal hiking equipment in the house (e.g. hiking information corner, drying room for hiking boots and clothing, possibility for shoe cleaning in the outdoor area, ...)
- Hiking starting point with overview board and proximity to the hiking trail network
Hosts with an affinity for hiking
Hiking-orientated accommodation has very good facilities and infrastructure for hikers. The hosts are familiar with the area and are able to advise their guests very well.
