The Wilder Kaiser Water

Drinking water quality at the Wilder Kaiser

As a resident of the Wilder Kaiser region, there are many luxuries that come with living in one of the most beautiful mountain ranges that are sometimes no longer fully appreciated. One of these "luxuries" - which cannot be valued highly enough - is water. It is anything but a given that you can enjoy water in as many forms as here.

Be it the rushing mountain stream where you can refill your water bottle during a strenuous hike, the village fountain where you can enjoy a few cool sips as you walk past, or the cool, fresh air that blows out of the local gorges. But of course there are also hiking destinations such as the Schleier waterfall or the shimmering turquoise waters of the region's wet natural jewel - the unique Hintersteiner See lake, which invites you to swim despite, or perhaps because of, its constantly cool temperature.

The Wilder Kaiser water enchants not only in lakes, streams and gorges. The water can be enjoyed in all hotels and restaurants and in your accommodation - simply from the tap!

5 reasons for the water at the Wilder Kaiser

  • Experience the region with all your senses
  • Saving plastic bottles
  • Transport routes
  • Pure refreshment & enjoyment
  • High quality

Being in a region where the best water comes straight from the spring or tap is a great luxury. To raise awareness of this - and of the fact that you don't have to buy plastic bottles in the supermarket - there is the "Wilder Kaiser water bottle" for cycling and hiking.

The best thing about it? It is, of course, a reusable bottle that can be refilled again and again and is also made from bio-based plastic. In other words: made from sweet grasses. Each bottle produced also supports a climate protection project and thus offsets CO2 emissions.

To inspire as many guests as possible to drink Wilder Kaiser water from reusable bottles, the "Wilder Kaiser water bottles" are now being handed out at some of the activity programme points - and filled up at the fountain right at the start to set a good example. With this in mind: enjoy yourselves, cheers!

Not at the lake, but on the mountain in Hochsöll: the Hexenwasser offers numerous water play stations, which are also great for cooling off on hot days.

Why drinking tap water is sustainable

  • Tap water saves waste: 17 billion plastic bottles are used every year in Germany alone; only 9% of these are recycled
  • Tap water saves CO2: bottled water consumes 600 times more CO2 than tap water
  • Tap water saves water: it takes 100 litres of water to produce one kilo of plastic
  • Tap water is a precious commodity: we have sufficient drinking water; in parts of Africa, women and children walk 64 times the distance to the moon every day
