Ellmau summer night

Every Tuesday in summer from 6 pm, the main street through Ellmau transforms into a car-free shopping mile, lined with refreshment stands where bakers, butchers and innkeepers serve up their specialities – from doughnuts and dumplings to sausages. Live bands perform along the way, blending traditional tunes with modern sounds to create a lively atmosphere in the guest gardens on every corner. As locals and visitors alike browse the market stalls, junk shops and regional products, they gather under the warm summer skies to enjoy a beer or glass of wine and a cosy "Hoagascht" (traditional informal gathering) in the heart of the Wilder Kaiser.
