Piste tour ascent route Hartkaiser No. 1 - Ellmau

Car park at the Hartkaiserbahn gondola lift valley station, Ellmau (824 m) - (pay & display for ski tourers - also on ski tourers' evening)

Outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and temperature incl. a change of clothes and protection against the cold (hat, gloves), ski touring boots, poles, touring skis and skins, helmet, backpack, sun protection (sunglasses, ski goggles, sunscreen, lip protection), food (enough to drink - warm drinks & snacks), first aid kit incl. blister plaster, emergency blanket, bivy backpack & headlamp, cell phone with fully charged battery, ID, insurance card, cash. (Depending on the tour - in open terrain also avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel).

Heading from Wörgl or Kufstein on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and then take the first exit at the roundabout. Driving towards the centre of Ellmau, turn right when you reach the Intersport Winkler sports shop (located on the left-hand side) and follow the green signs leading towards the Hartkaiserbahn gondola lift.
