Description
From the hiking starting point at the Wochenbrunner Alm mountain hut, there are two options for the approach:
- via trail/path 825 towards the Gruttenhütte mountain hut
- via the Gaudeamushütte mountain hut and the Klammlweg trail (812/822 and 813/824) towards the Gruttenhütte
Approach time: approx. 1.75 hours
To the east of the Gruttenhütte, follow the sign “Ellmauer Tor über Jubiläumssteig” until you reach the entrance to the Jubiläumssteig trail.

Heading from St. Johann on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and then drive straight on until you reach the junction (green signs – leading towards KaiserBad/Kaisergebirge/Wochenbrunn). Turn right here, then turn right again immediately after passing the bus stop. Follow the (toll) road until you reach the Wochenbrunner Alm car park.
