The Wilder Kaiser Water
Drinking water quality in the Wilder Kaiser region
As a resident of the Wilder Kaiser region, one sometimes fails to appreciate to the full the many luxuries that life in one of the most beautiful mountain ranges has to offer. One of these ‘luxuries’ – which, however, cannot be valued highly enough – is water. Yet it is anything but a given that one can enjoy water in as many forms as one can here.
Be it by the rushing mountain stream, where you can refill your water bottle during a strenuous hike to top up your water bottle, the village well where you treat yourself to a few cool sips as you pass by, or the cool, fresh air that greets us from the local gorges. But of course there are also hiking destinations such as the Schleier Waterfall or the turquoise-shimmering waters of the region’s wet natural gem – the unique Hintersteiner See, which invites you to take a dip despite – or perhaps precisely because of – its consistently cool temperature.
It’s not just in lakes, streams and gorges that the Wilder Kaiser’s water enchants. The water can be enjoyed in all hotels, restaurants and at your accommodation – quite simply straight from the tap!

5 reasons to visit the Wilden Kaiser for its water
- Experience the region with all your senses
- Cut down on plastic bottles
- Avoid transport routes
- Pure refreshment & enjoyment
- High quality

Living in a region where the best water comes straight from the spring or the tap is a great luxury. To raise awareness of this – and of the fact that you don’t need to buy plastic bottles at the supermarket – there’s the ‘Wilder Kaiser water bottle’ for cycling and hiking.
The best thing about it? It is, of course, a reusable bottle that can be refilled time and time again and, on top of that, is made from bio-based plastic. In other words: from sweet grasses. Furthermore, every bottle produced supports a climate protection project.
To inspire as many guests as possible to drink ‘Wilder Kaiser’ water from reusable bottles, the ‘Wilder Kaiser Water Bottles’ are now being handed out at some activity programme stops – and filled up right at the start at the fountain, to lead by example. On that note: enjoy your drink, cheers!

Tip
Hexenwasser Söll
Not by the lake, but up in the mountains in Hochsöll: the Hexenwasser features numerous water play areas, which are a great way to cool off, even on hot days.
