Wilder Kaiser region

European Hiking Seal of Quality

Having been awarded the European Hiking Seal of Quality, the Wilder Kaiser destination is one of the top European hiking regions. In addition to a perfect orientation system, the hiking experiences are also ideally organised. The destination is constantly working on improving the quality of infrastructure, optimising experiences, trail conditions and in the accommodation establishments.

Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality

In 2011, the Wilder Kaiser destination was the first alpine region in Austria to be awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality. The four Kaiser villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll, accommodation and hiking trails were comprehensively assessed by the Association for Quality Assurance for Hiking in Austria.

The certification focuses on the areas of service, orientation, experience and landscape/space. Scope, variety, experience & impressions as well as quality allowed the Wilder Kaiser region to emerge as the strongest mountain experience in the Alps.

In subsequent years, the Kaiserkrone multi-day hike and the Gaudeamushütte were also awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality.

Tyrolean Mountain Trail Seal of Quality

After 2018, the region was also awarded the Tyrolean Mountain Trail Seal of Approval in 2023, and the Tauernblick Panorama Circular Trail was once again awarded the title of "Tyrolean Mountain Trail with Distinction".
This is awarded when the hiking and mountain trail network is categorised, marked, signposted, maintained, serviced and displayed on overview boards in accordance with specified guidelines (according to the Tyrolean hiking and mountain trail concept).

Austrian Ecolabel

The Austrian Ecolabel is an independent seal of quality and proves to be an important signpost for environmentally conscious guests. It is based on all the pillars of sustainability and covers social aspects as well as ecological and economic aspects. The eco-label is a guarantee of environmental awareness and stands for high quality. The certified businesses are reviewed every 4 years to ensure that the standards are maintained.

Climbers Paradise

As a member of Climbers Paradise, the Wilder Kaiser region always endeavours to provide guests with the highest standards of climbing infrastructure. In order to meet these quality standards, the climbing areas are continuously optimised and all relevant content is clearly presented. This continuous development forms the basis for an unforgettable climbing experience on the Wilder Kaiser.

Tyrolean family nests

There are currently 20 nest partners of the "Tiroler Familiennester" in the Wilder Kaiser region. The region's membership of the Tiroler Familiennester quality association guarantees the highest educational standards in our children's and family programme. Many hosts in the region are also family-friendly and, as quality-certified family accommodation, are among the nest partners of the Tyrolean Family Nests.

Quality-certified Tyrolean summer lifts

The "Tiroler Sommerbahnen" initiative is a unique association of mountain lifts in the entire Alpine region, which have dedicated themselves to outstanding, quality-tested adventure offers & attractions with a focus on summer.

The BergErlebnisWelten of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental are also among these award-winning summer lifts. The co-operation partners are united by the goal of making summer on the mountain uniquely eventful and providing a promise of quality. This is why all themed mountains offer strictly tested offers in at least one of the four adventure specialisations: Adventure, Family, Pleasure and Panorama & Nature Experience. Depending on the themed mountain, a comprehensive catalogue of criteria must be fulfilled.

People & Culture Company 2023

The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board involves the team in decision-making processes across the hierarchy and regularly determines how employees are really doing. This makes it one of the companies that actively focus on a positive employee experience and has been awarded the title "People & Culture Company 2023" by Busines Beat.

Tirol Touristica Award

Quality of life project at the Wilder Kaiser

In June 2019, the Wilder Kaiser Tourism Association was honoured to receive its third Tirol Touristica Award. The "Quality of Life on the Wilder Kaiser" project, which has been committed to the sustainable development of tourism with the involvement of the local population since 2017, was honoured with this award at the Tyrolean Tourism Forum. For the high-calibre jury, the "Lebensqualität am Wilden Kaiser" project scored highly as "a forward-looking initiative that will hopefully have an impact and spread to other regions." We are proud and thank you for this award!

Landlord coach project

One of the main tasks of the tourism association is to support landlords in their marketing activities. "It is important to us to equip all landlords with the necessary expertise to be able to attract new guests in the future," says TVB Chairman Hans Adelsberger. To this end, the Wilder Kaiser Tourism Association was the first Tyrolean TVB to install its own landlord coach in 2013. This coach offers landlords in-house advice and technical service, which was the success factor in the TVB's sales optimisation. The success was quickly apparent, booking numbers multiplied in just a few months and the quality of the offers available online increased enormously.

Project Mountain Doctor Region & Mountain Doctor Weeks at the Wilder Kaiser

Der Bergdoktor", a main evening series broadcast weekly on ORF and ZDF since 2008, uses the real place and field names of the Wilder Kaiser region and significantly increases the popularity of the region through its beautiful landscapes. The production was brought to the region in 2007 thanks to long-standing contacts, which represents cost-effective and sustainable image advertising. The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board uses the popularity of the series and the main actor in its marketing and has created numerous experiences around the theme, including the successful Bergdoktor fan weeks in May and September. The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board was awarded the Tirol Touristica in 2013 for this innovative project.
