Guest Card with taxi voucher

Vouchers for free taxi journeys

To ensure that you, as a guest in the Wilder Kaiser region, can get around even at times when there are no or only a few ski buses and hiking buses running, we have included vouchers for free taxi journeys in the Wilder Kaiser region on your guest card. The “Guest Card with taxi voucher” promotion is available from 27 October to 4 December 2026.

What’s it all about?

  • The GästeCard includes four vouchers for free taxi journeys when there are few ski or hiking buses operating in the region.
  • The taxi vouchers are valid only for journeys within the Wilder Kaiser region, i.e. for journeys within the municipal boundaries of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll.
  • A taxi voucher is valid for one journey for one person.
  • For journeys within your holiday resort (e.g. from your accommodation to the mountain railway) or for a journey to a neighbouring resort (e.g. from Scheffau to Söll), one taxi voucher per person is required (1 zone).
  • For journeys to a more distant destination in the Wilder Kaiser region (e.g. Ellmau – Söll), two vouchers per person are required (2 zones).
  • For trips to the mountains (Alpengasthaus Gruberhof, Stallhäusl – Söll, Hintersteiner See (from the Bärnstatt Inn), the Jägerwirt Inn – Scheffau, the Wochenbrunner Alm, the JezzAlm and the Treichlhof – Ellmau), two vouchers will always be deducted.

How does it work?

Make sure that...

- You are travelling during a “GästeCard with taxi voucher” period
- The start and end points of the journey are within the Wilder Kaiser region (Ellmau, Going, Scheffau or Söll)
- Every passenger has their GästeCard with them and still has sufficient taxi vouchers remaining on their GästeCard
- You use a taxi from a taxi company participating in the “GästeCard with taxi voucher” scheme
- The driver scans your GästeCard BEFORE the journey begins and confirms that the journey is free of charge for you

Our answers to your questions

During specified periods, four taxi vouchers for free taxi journeys in the Wilder Kaiser region are automatically loaded onto every GästeCard.

Guests staying in the Wilder Kaiser region between 27 October 2026 and 4 December 2026 who hold a valid Wilder Kaiser GästeCard can redeem the taxi vouchers by presenting and scanning their GästeCard in the taxi.

The taxi vouchers can be used daily from 07:00 to 24:00.

The taxi vouchers are valid only for journeys within the Wilder Kaiser region, i.e. for journeys within the municipal boundaries of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll. The taxi vouchers are NOT valid for journeys to the towns of Itter, Schwoich, Kufstein, St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf and Reith, which border the Wilder Kaiser region.

Before the journey begins, the taxi driver scans the GästeCard and the corresponding number of vouchers (1 zone = 1 voucher; 2 zones = 2 vouchers) is deducted.

For journeys within your holiday resort (e.g. from your accommodation to the mountain railway) or for a journey to a neighbouring village (e.g. from Scheffau to Söll), one taxi voucher per person is required (1 zone).

For journeys to a more distant village in the Wilder Kaiser region (e.g. Ellmau – Söll), two vouchers per person are required (2 zones).

There are no additional costs for guests, provided they have a sufficient number of taxi vouchers on their GästeCard. The costs of the pilot project ‘Guest Card with Taxi Voucher’ are covered by the Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board.

The minimum number of passengers per journey is 2 (regardless of whether they are fellow travellers or strangers). Passengers travelling alone must therefore use twice the number of vouchers per journey. (1 zone = 2 vouchers, 2 zones = 4 vouchers)

Please report the loss of your GästeCard to your accommodation. Your host can issue you with a new GästeCard. For technical reasons, replacement cards do not contain any taxi vouchers.

Taxi vouchers are non-transferable and may only be used by the person in whose name the GästeCard is issued. The value of the voucher cannot be redeemed for cash.

Taxi companies are free to accept or refuse a journey (if no vehicle is available or the journey is too far). There is no guarantee of transport.

It is recommended that you book a taxi in advance, particularly during peak times. However, you can also hail a taxi on the spot, provided there are taxis available.

No, the taxi vouchers are valid exclusively for journeys with the participating taxi companies and are not transferable to other taxi companies or modes of transport.

For longer journeys outside the Wilder Kaiser region, other public transport options are available. With your GästeCard, you can use all regular bus services in the Wilder Kaiser region free of charge. You can find all the information you need about local transport here.
