From barley soup, Brodakrapfen and Germknödel
The Wilder Kaiser embodies a formidable mountain experience. Only to be topped by tasty Tyrolean cooking, especially when enjoyed on the terraces of a sunny mountain lodge! Of course sweet Germknödel (yeast dumpling) with poppyseeds and butter taste especially good after a ski tour or some extreme skiing.
Many dishes, which in earlier times were the food of the farmers, such as Gerstlsuppe (barley and bacon soup) and Brodakrapfen (hot crullers filled with fresh cheese), are today, somewhat refined, experiencing a new heyday. There is also a great deal of organic produce from local farmers, the cheese dairy, the schnapps distillery, beekeepers, the herb farm even up to local beer - the Wilder Kaiser region has many riches and knows how to enjoy them.
Cordial hospitality is combined here with good food and drink. "Breakfast on the Mountain" is one such ultimate sensation which you ought to indulge in!
