Summit hike to the Hintere Goinger Halt
A popular and accessible peak in the Wilder Kaiser
The Hintere Goinger Halt is a popular and accessible peak in the Wilder Kaiser. It is a demanding climb but the reward is a magnificent view over the whole region from 2,195 metres.
Sure footedness and a head for heights are needed!
Route description: From the Wochenbrunner Alm along the rubble path to the Gaudeamushütte (1,263m). From here it is well marked and signposted to the Ellmauer Tor at 1,997m. (Path numbers 813 and 812). The path up passes through dwarf pines and over scree fields towards the Vorderer Karlsspitze.
Two steep sections are eased with fixed cables. After these it's on to the Ellmauer Tor. From here a marked route to the right leads in a north-easterly direction, half an hour later the peak of Hinter Goinger Halt is reached at 2,195m. Then it's back down the same way!
