Secured routes at the Wilder Kaiser

Rock experience on secured routes

Secured routes are not continually secured with steel ropes and therefore marked as difficult/black mountain paths. Good balance and freeness of vertigo is required in any case. We recommend that inexperienced mountaineers take a climbing harness and climbing sets. Due to the danger of rock fall, we also recommend helmets! The Wilder Kaiser beckons with very attractive landscapes and interesting paths, such as the Jubiläumssteig that leads through the "Wild Castle” and is a true landscape highlight. The Gamsängersteig leads onto the highest summit in the Wilder Kaiser, the Ellmauer Halt at 2,344 m. The Widauersteig and Eggersteig are also quite attractive.

The Gamsängersteig leads up to the highest summit in the Wilder Kaiser, the Ellmauer Halt at 2,344 m. The path is very well secured and offers a spectacular view of the surrounding mountain world from the highest point in the Kaiser Mountains.

The Widauersteig leads onto the Scheffauer (2,111 m) on the North side. Once at the summit, you will have a view far into the Inn valley and of the teal, gassy-clear Hintersteiner See. The south side takes you down to Scheffau in the valley.

Eggersteig

Cominf from the North, the Eggersteig leads through the Steinerne Rinne to the impressive Ellmauer Tor. Experience the powerful rock walls of the Fleischbank and Predigtstuhl up close and enjoy the fantastic view from the Ellmauer Tor South towards the main Alpine ridge.
