Kufstein fixed-rope route

A classic among the fixed-rope routes at the Wilder Kaiser

The Kufstein fixed-rope route leads onto the Unteres Gamskarköpfl (1,975 m) on the north side of the Wilder Kaiser. This is structured in three sections, a track part, a very steep middle part and finally a very exposed crossing that leads directly to the summit of the Unteres Gamskarköpfl. The fixed-rope route at difficulty D has very few stopping brackets. With another hour's climb, you can reach the summit of the Sonneck (2,260 m). After a well-deserved rest with a wonderful all-round panorama, you can climb down to the valley and Scheffau via the south side of the Wilder Kaiser and past the Sonnenstein. Access the path from the Anton-Karg-Haus in the Kaisertal in approx. 1.5 hours. Good balance and freeness of vertigo are required! Climbing harness, fixed-rope route set & helmet required!
