Handcrafts & Farming

Tyrol can be seen and experienced in cuisine, countryside and celebrations

The Wilder Kaiser region is most positively a cliché of what is Tyrol. Architecture and mountain farming landscapes embody a tradition which is alive and well. The locals feel at home in their land and are happy to pass on their customs to "Zuagroaste" (newcomers) who stay, and to visitors who drop in and, more often than not, come back again. Genuine 'Tyrolerism' can be experienced in cuisine and also in art, cultural events and celebrations.

The Kaiser village of Going has still retained a great deal of its original style, so it’s hardly surprising that one very special tradition has been nurtured here for 30 years. On six Friday evenings in summer an almost forgotten custom is brought to life on the little picturesque village square.
