Ceremonial driving down of cattle from the mountain pastures into the valley in autumn.
When the band of Söll comes marching into Söll at 11.00am on 19th September 2009 - one of the highlights of the annual festivals is starting.
Come and witness culture and tradition in its purest form.
The decorated cows are led through the village between 12.00am and 3.30pm, to return to their home stables for the winter months.
You will also find a great choice of local specialities and delicacies such as “Kiachl” and “Krapfn”, and a display of local handcraft and traditional souvenirs. If you wish to buy some local cheese, bacon or schnapps, this is also the right occasion to do so! You will find live music in several places and for the little ones we offer a pet zoo and free buggy rides.
